About Us

The PHOCCUS Foundation is a certified 501(C)3 nonprofit organization, providing better vision for children and members of the community in need. The organization assists infants up to college age students, as well as seniors without vision insurance.

The focus of the organization is to ensure all school aged children have the same opportunities in the classroom, and that is being able to see properly at a distance and near. The organization is guided by policies, integrity, and professionalism.

Our Mission Statement

The P.H.O.C.C.U.S. foundation is dedicated to providing help to our children and the less fortunate members of our community with vision assistance. Our belief that "if a child can see better, they can learn better and do better", gives us the drive and commitment to making sure all school age children have the same opportunities and are not left behind because they are unaware, they are not seeing with their best vision.

OUR VISION

We are committed to P.H.O.C.C.U.S. (Providing Help for Our Children and Community's Unusual Sight), When we use the word “HELP” it means that we want to be able to give free exams, make and dispense FREE eyeglasses to as many school age children as possible.

Each year vision impaired children return to school, because they have lost or broken their eyeglasses over the summer and their parents could not afford to purchase them another pair. There is a major need for assistance with the purchase of eyewear for children in the local school systems.

There are parents who do not realize that their child or children cannot see. As a result, children are failing classes and not working to their fullest potential. Teachers and parents think it’s because the child or student is not studying or reading the material, however, the reality is the child/student need glasses. I have been in the eyecare field for over twenty years, Over the years, I have met parents who are unaware their child does not have "perfect" vision.
